I've just completed the entire first season of True Blood, and I like it. It is very different from the books. The same general story arc is there, but many things in the show NEVER occured in the books. The show and the book are so different from one another that I can honestly say that it is difficult to say I like one more than the other. You can only do that with things that are similar. I definitely like the show well enough to have just signed up for HBO again. (I'll be cancelling once True Blood Season 2 is over, of course.) We didn't see very much of him, just like in the book, but I am in love with this man.
He's not at all how I pictured him, but I adore him in the books, so I have to adore him in the show. I'm really hoping that he plays a larger role in Season 2. I lent my books 1 & 2 to Travis, though, so I can't remember if he does. I don't think so. I think he shows up for the exciting stuff close to the end. Same for book three, now that I think about it. We don't really get to know Eric better until book four. Dang it.

Just as an FYI, he's so much hotter without the long hair and the pale skin...
He must get his looks from his mom, since Stellan is nothing to write home about. (That's mean. Now I feel kind of bad.)
