On Alexander Skarsgard, Stalking of

Since I love Alexander Skarsgard in TrueBlood, I decided to check out some of his other work. Most of it is in Swedish. I haven't gone so far as to track any of that down yet. I did find Generation Kill on HBO OnDemand, which may be the best thing since, well, ever.

Generation Kill is fabulous. My little Alexander plays Brad Colbert, a recon marine who is part of the team invading Iraq at the start of the second Gulf War. I started watching this show for Alexander, but the whole thing is awesome. There are only seven episodes and I'm sorry to say that I finished them in far less than a week. I promised myself I'd only watch one a night. That did not work out for me. One night, I watched four and was up until 3 am. Going to work the next day sucked.

It's fascinating to see the point of view of these guys going in, without knowing all that we know now. For the first week they are in Iraq, they are in their WMD gear. Watching the soldiers reactions to the war arond them, the people of Iraq and even to their fellow soldiers was so amazing. I highly recommend this show. My favorite scene is here.
