I've been wanting some house plants for a while now. Every time we pass the plant section at any store (including the grocery store) I have to stop and stare at every little leaf. I tend to kill plants (and Marco tends to eat them) so I've been hesitant to purchase any....until now.
Tony was rearranging the living room when I came home from work yesterday and the corner by the front window remained conspicuously empty. Something was definitely missing. I suggested we purchase a small palm and place it on a plant stand. Tony agreed, so off I went to Home Depot to get one. I'd seen some there a week or so before for $12, so it wouldn't be a big deal right?
They didn't have my damn palms. All they had were GINORMOUS ones taller than me for $40.00. I talked myself into this and I present to you:

Herbie looked so wonderful in his little corner, that we decided that we needed to get a few more plants to liven the place up. I trotted off to Home Depot again and came home with the following characters.
