Date Night Ends In Disaster!

Big Dogs Huge Paws had a Night with the Nuggets on Saturday the 21st. $5 of each seat sold within a certain section went to BDHP, plus we got to have some of our fosters outside for Nuggets fans to meet on the way to the game. We got lots of exposure and sold out the 100 seats alloted to us ($500 for the rescue!)

Tony and I are not big basketball fans, but we wanted to support the rescue and decided to have a date night. We headed to the game, bought Tony lots of beers and settled in to watch the game. The Nuggets got spanked initially, but toward the end of the game, the Bulls got were getting tired (I assume from the altitude) and the Nuggets came back and beat them up. I was bored most of the time, as was Tony, but it was really nice to get out and go somewhere together. Our first date night in literally YEARS.

Getting out of the Pepsi Center parking lot was the usual chore, but once we were on Colfax, it should have been a quick trip home. It wasn't. We noticed that the Jeep wasn't driving as smoothly as it normally did. Something was clearly wrong. Tony rolled down his window and we both groaned as we heard the flub-flub-flub of a flat tire. We were already on Colfax headed for I-25, so we bypassed it and got off on Federal. We parked in the lot of a Denny's to change the tire only to discover that the Jeep came with the WRONG JACK. It was a jack for a car, not a SUV, so it didn't lift the truck high enough to put the good tire on. We had to call my baby bro to bring us his floor jack to finish the job. We finally got it done and got home at 11:40. We then adjourned to The Fox and The Hound with Curt and the Kopisches to drown our sorrows. Alls well that ends well, but it was way stressful while it was happening.
